I’ve done it, but I didn’t do it alone!
I’ve succumbed to having a website. Many cool and interesting artists I know don’t have one, but other cool and interesting artists I know do. Some keep their site current and fresh, and others threw one up in the 00s and haven’t looked back.
Speaking of the naught-naughts … there was a brief moment back then when I studied website design after work at New York University and did an intensive weeklong Photoshop course at the New School, all with a plan to move from being an executive assistant in an investment bank to a web designer. I became a technical project manager. But, I have a very talented web designer, communications, and marketing small business owner as a sister-in-law! So, shout out to Workflō for making this happen!
My feeling was that with two Instagram accounts and a presence on the Society of Scottish Artists’ website I didn’t need my own site. And then I have a solo show, and things start happening, and I rethink the platform as a different way of curating a viewer’s experience and make this another dimension of my aesthetic and how I diffuse my creative practice.
So, here we are: www.nonarchivalstudio.com.
